Fall '23 Event
Advancing Women's Health at the MUHC
Awareness, Equity and Impact were at the forefront of this special event in partnership with the MUHC Foundation. From cancer to cardiac disease, we learnt about 3 amazing, ground breaking women's health initiatives at the MUHC. Ultimately, our members voted and Women's Healthy Heart Initiative was the elected recipient of our collective donation of $16 440. Our total donation towards Advancing Women's Health at the MUHC was $20 005!
Winter '23 Event
STOP Gender Violence
At our Winter Event we came together to STOP Gender Violence. We put the spotlight on 3 amazing local charities that are addressing gender violence through Prevention, Support or Safety. We heard from Auberge Transition, portraitX and Shelter Movers. The members voted and Auberge Transition was the elected recipient of our $16 000 donation! Our runner up charities also received sizeable donations from our corporate sponsors and members bringing our total donation for this event to $24 725!
Spring '23 Event
Lifting Women Up
At our Spring Event we celebrated our 2 year anniversary. It was an evening all about Lifting Women Up. We heard from 3 amazing charities: Dress for Success, Les Scientifines and Up With Women. The members voted and Les Scientifines was the elected recipient of our donation! Our membership raised $14 105. We also introduced our generous Corporate Sponsors at this event, who are supporting our runner up charities. Dress for Success and Up With Women each received donations of $1 700 or more. Our grand total of donations to date is now $116 730!!
Winter '22 Event
From the Heart
It may have been a cold February evening but our hearts were warm! The room was filled with familiar faces, new members and friends. Our theme was "From the Heart"- charities our members cared deeply about. We heard from 3 amazing charities: Batshaw Foundation, LOVE and Amal Center for Women. The members voted and the Amal Center for Women was the elected recipient of our donation! Our amazing membership raised $16 400!
Spring '22 Event
Helping Refugees
We were thrilled to be able to gather in person again with our members at the Atwater Club. Our theme was Helping Refugees. We heard from the Welcome Collective, the Afghan Women's Centre and Montreal City Mission; three non-profits helping newly arrived refugees in Montreal to start anew. Our membership voted to donate our collective donation of $17 230 to the Welcome Collective. Our funds will be used to provide essentials to newly arriving families who need the very basics.
Autumn '22 Event
Fighting Poverty
Our theme for our September Event was Fighting Poverty. We heard from 3 wonderful charities: On our Own, Tyndale St-Georges Community Cenre and Je Passe Partout. The membership voted and the lucky recipient of our $16 720 donation was On Our Own, an organization providing affordable housing and supportive program to help vulnerable young families.
Winter'21 Event
Kids & Teens
Our February event was virtual due to another COVID-19 wave. We streamed the event from the beautiful Atwater Club. We heard from 3 wonderful charities supporting Kids & Teens: Pour 3 Points, Gender Creative Kids and Le Phare. The membership voted and Pour 3 Points, an organization supporting underprivileged youth by training sports coaches, was the elected recipient of our $17 000 donation.
Autumn '21 Event
Mental Health Matters
With COVID-19 restrictions relaxing, we were able to have our first hybrid event and it was a success! With members in person at the Segal Centre as well as many on-line, we heard from 3 worthy charities supporting Mental Health in Montreal: Yellow Door, Douglas Foundation and AMI- Quebec. Our membership voted to donate our collective donation of $15 330 to the Yellow Door, a local non profit helping to break social isolation across all generations of Montrealers.
Inaugural Spring '21 Event
Empowering Women
Our inaugural event was virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions. Despite launching amidst the pandemic, we had nearly 100 members in attendance on zoom. Our first social cause: Empowering Women. We heard from our 3 deserving charity finalists: The Native Women's Shelter, Pavillon Patricia Mackenzie and Pavillon Marguerite de Champlain. Our membership elected to donate our collective donation of $14 500 to Pavillon Marguerite de Champlain, a women's shelter on the southshore supporting women and children who are fleeing domestic violence.
