Our Story.

Inspired by the simple but proven giving circle concept taking off across North America and overseas, Sabrina Ahmed was determined to establish a chapter of 100+ Women Who Care in her beloved city of Montreal.   In the midst of a global pandemic, she knew that Montreal charities needed help now more than ever and she needed a dream team to make it happen.  She first approached fellow school volunteer,  Susan Hinojosa to be a co-founder. Susan loved the concept of harnessing the power of women to create meaningful social impact and did not hesitate. They quickly recruited Anita Salvatore, Paola Samuel and Jo- Ann Munro and now they had a team of 5 passionate women committed to building this initiative.  Together, they are rallying the women of Montreal in their sisterhood for good.

Jo-Ann Munro

Jo-Ann comes to us with over 30 years experience in the world of marketing and communications. In her role as Creative Director she was responsible for giving brands a voice. Having worked with many large and small brands she found the most rewarding work to be for charities like Centraide and Unicef. Not only were those campaigns award winning they also got results. And Jo-Ann got the ‘do good’ bug. A passion she brings to 100+ Women Who Care.

She left TV news a few years ago to work on her own projects which include a thriving health and wellness business and her new passions:  podcasting, writing and motivational speaking. She is a strong believer in the power of women lifting each other up and so 100+ Women Who Care Montreal was the perfect philanthropic fit.
